Dan Sultan - Blackbird (2014)

After a couple of albums dabbling in alt-country and blues territory, Blackbird is pure, big band-driven rock’n’roll at its finest and it feels the man has finally found his feet. A lot has happened in the Melbournite’s world since the release of his ARIA Award-winning sophomore effort Get Out While You Can in 2010. After a couple of years of soul searching, Dan Sultan has surrounded himself with a new band, team and label, as well as heading abroad to Nashville to record with Grammy Award-winning producer Jacquire King (Kings Of Leon, Tom Waits) at the legendary Blackbird Studio (giving the album its name).
